Safety Measures

1  Training and Educating Our Team

It is important to us that our team is trained and educated.

  • Our team is trained in proper hand washing.  It is the most important thing we can do to prevent spread of disease, and is performed before and after every patient
  • They are also trained in the proper PPE(personal protective equipment) practices
  • Any staff member that is not feeling well is told to stay home
  • All staff member’s temperature is taken at the beginning of the day and will be sent home with a temperature above 100.2 F

2 Patient Interviews and Social Distancing

Before Patient Arrival:

  • Patients are rescheduled who show any signs of cough or fever

To Promote Social Distancing:

  • Patients are told to call the office from their car once they arrive so that we can control when patients enter and leave the office
  • Patients are booked in such a way to limit any possible interaction they may have with each other
  • If a patient is being accompanied, their escort should wait in the car to limit the number of people in the office (except for a parent accompanying a child)

Safety measures taken upon arrival:

  • Alcohol based hand sanitizer is made available upon entrance to the office
  • Patients are asked to wash their hand and rinse with 1% hydrogen peroxide before each appointment

3. Protocols for the Clinical Team

  • A HEPA filter is installed in the treatment operatory and is run continuously throughout the day
  • Hand hygiene is performed by all staff before and after all patient contact
  • PPE is worn by all staff members
  • After the patient is dismissed all non-disposable medical equipment used for patient care is clean and disinfected and /or sterilized per the manufacturers recommendations and routine cleaning and disinfection procedures are closely followed including applying an EPA-registered, hospital-grade disinfectant to frequently touched surfaces and objects for appropriate contact times
  • All surfaces that were touched by the previous patient are wiped down including door handles and computer keyboards
